The Pan American Food Festival is being held at the end of this month for five days. It is set to feature the foods of North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean.
This year's featured country is Mexico, and there will be many related activities taking place during the festival. There will be three food competitions for chefs, one with masa (a dough with filling), the Batalle de empanada (stuffed bread or pastry), and Heladisimo (which is frozen treats). All three will be hosted by Mary Luz Meljia.
There will be a PanAm Music and Dance Festival with artists such as Las Otros, Little Joseph, and Guaye. Other performers will be the Mexican Folk Ballet. There are also set to be plenty of cooking demonstrations, family activities, an urban gardening workshop with Alfredo Correa, a photographic exhibition, a street market, and dance workshops.
Many people attending will have no doubt come to Toronto to attend the PanAm Games and the ParapanAm games. Local Print companies have no doubt been asked to provide advertising materials like Flyers and Posters to publicize such events.
The Pan American Food Festival is taking place at Daniels Spectrum from July 30 to August 3. The competitions will take place on the MDS Courtyard, and tickets range in price from $6 to $10.
