Canadas Outstanding Principals to be celebrated

Each year, The Learning Partnership holds a gala event to celebrate Canada's Outstanding Principals. Fifty school principals from all over the country are chosen to be honored.

In order to be chosen as one of the 50 outstanding principals, each candidate must fit certain criteria. They must have taken some initiative at their school to improve student achievement, they must have been able to engage staff, students, parents and the community in which their school is located and they must submit four supporting letters from witnesses stating that the principal has done the above. In the case of a Catholic school, a pastoral letter is required.

After they are chosen, the principals are expected to attend a five day course in executive leadership training at the Rotman School of Management. They are also expected to host The Learning Partnership programs at their school or in their district; this involves giving occasional presentations throughout the year and acting as a mentor.

It's likely that the organizers of the event will be working with Toronto printing companies to design and Print program Booklets and advertising materials.

The ninth annual Canada's Outstanding Principals gala will take place at the Westin Harbor Castle Hotel on February 26, beginning at 5:00pm. Tickets are $125 each or $1,250 for a table of ten. A congratulatory letter to one of the winners can be purchased for $250 for inclusion in the gala program booklet. For more information, people can call 416-440-5105.
