Busker festival has a new home in Toronto this year

The Scotiabank Buskerfest will take place in Toronto for four days this August. It has moved since last year and will now take place on Yonge Street between Queen and Gerrard; the street will be closed to traffic.

The festival, which is a presentation of Epilepsy Toronto, is expected to feature over 100 street performers, including magicians, musicians, and fire eaters. Those appearing at the festival include After Hours, Chalky, Pierre St. Pierre, Pyromancer, Silver Elvis, and the Silent Violinist, some of whom are returning guests.

In addition, the kid's Buskerplay area will feature face painting activities, dress up Boxes, an inflatable maze, workshops, and family-friendly performances. There will definitely be something to appeal to every member of the family over the four days.

The event will kick off in style with the Busker Ball, which will raise funds for Epilepsy Toronto. It will be hosted by Andria Case and will feature live and silent auctions, appetizers, and an open bar.

Organizers have been working with Toronto printing companies to prepare for the shows. This may have included investing in flyer and poster printing services to help create publicity.

The Scotiabank Buskerfest will happen from August 22-25. It is a pay-what-you-want event. The Busker Ball will take place at the Mattamy Athletic Center on August 20 from 6:00 - 10:00pm. Tickets are $150 if purchased before July 31, or $175 after. For more information on either event, visit the official website.
