Brunch tour indulges Torontonians taste buds

The King & Queen West Food Tour promises some of Toronto’s best culinary treats in what VOGUE Magazine recently proclaimed as one of the world’s hippest neighbourhoods.

As part of a weekly offering that began on September 13, guides escort groups along the streets of Toronto’s west end to seven different stops, ranging from cafes, to bars, to patisseries, and more establishmens at which chefs tantalize taste buds with unique creations that meld flavours from around the world.

Some participating restaurants may enlist neighbourhood Print companies to Print specialty Menus for the tour participants. Throughout the morning, the guides deconstruct brunch – the trendy, almost ceremonial, weekend gastronomic custom.

The tours take place on Sundays beginning at 11:30 am and typically last until 3:00 pm. Participants are encouraged not to have their morning coffee until they meet as a group, because that is their first stop. Additional stops often include Rocklobster and Cheesewerks, the latter of which is the only restaurant in Canada fully dedicated to Canadian cheese.

The tours run every Sunday, rain or shine. The starting point is the southwest corner of King Street West and Portland Street, just outside of Portland Variety.

The cost of the tour is $99 per person and the minimum age is 19. The price includes all food and select cocktails at particular locations.
