The Art Gallery of Ontario is presenting the exhibition ‘Art Spiegelman's CO-MIX: a Retrospective’ from December until March of 2015.
Art Spiegelman is a Pulitzer-winning author and artist who is best known for his two-volume graphic novel Maus, which is based on the lives of his parents in Nazi Germany. He has been working in visual storytelling for over 50 years and is one of the biggest names in the underground comic scene.
The exhibit will feature 300 of his works on paper; this includes trading cards, graphic novels, cover art from the New Yorker, and multimedia installations including the 50-foot glass mural that he created for New York's High School of Art and Design.
The exhibition is curated by Andrew Hunter and is presented in collaboration with the Jewish Museum of New York. It was originally organized by the Galerie Martel in Paris.
With the influence that comics and graphic novels seem to have with current Print advertising, this Toronto exhibition may very well attract those who work for design and printing companies.
Art Spiegelman's CO-MIX: a Retrospective will be showing at the Art Gallery of Ontario from December 20th until March 15th. There is no extra charge other than the gallery admission, which is $21.50 for adults, $18 for seniors and $13 for children.
