5th annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche to take place in October

The Scotiabank Nuit Blanche takes place in Toronto over one night between the hours of 6:59 PM until sunrise. This year it will take place the night of October 1st. It is a celebration of contemporary art which turns public places in the city into art displays. Banner printing services in Toronto will be busy helping to get the word out about this event; they will be called upon to Print maps, Signs and Banners.

The event has grown since it was first held in 2006. In 2006, 425,000 people attended and over 400 artists and curators showed their works. In 2010, over 1 million people attended. The event also brings a lot of tourists into the city. As the official website declares, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche makes it possible for you to “experience Toronto transformed by artists.”

Scotiabank Nuit Blanch is free to all attendees; there are even places for those attending to take a nap if they can’t stay up all night. The types of art displays range from light shows to art and music performances. Those who participated in 2010 included the School of Graphic Communications Management, Nightwood Theatre, Amada Arcuri, Larry Beckwith and Christine Irving. All types of art are accepted to participate in the event. The public is asked to vote on each art display to decide on several Scotiabank People’s Choice awards which will be handed out after the event.
Artists who find themselves inspired by the event can consult poster printing companies in Toronto who can advise them on reproducing their work to make an impact.
