The Web2 Awards are presented by the Printing Industries of America and are meant to “recognize, honor, and elevate standards for websites that are Print-centric.” The entry fee for non-members of the PIA is $199, members pay $99. The winners are chosen by 5 judges. Websites are judged on certain criteria and are given points; the ones with the highest scores win the accolades.
There are 5 different categories in which entries are judged and awards are given:
- Print service provider’s business website (no ecommerce component)
- Print service provider’s business website (includes ecommerce component)
- Printing industry news and information
- Social media, cross-media, promotional case study
Winners of the first two categories will be judged based on their annual sales volume. The winners from each category are then compared and the website with the highest overall points wins the Best of Show award. There is also a People’s Choice award; visitors will be able to vote on the website they like best beginning on June 6.
