Timmins to host hockey exhibition
Hockey fans in Timmins will have a chance to see potential future stars take the ice in a Canadian Hockey League (CHL) exhibition match.
The match will pit the Ontario Hockey League’s Sudbury Wolves against the Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The two leagues are part of the CHL, which features the top players under the age of 20, and is a major recruiting pool for the top professional hockey leagues. With the CHL season starting soon, both teams will be looking to put their top prospects through their paces.
The exhibition game is hosted by the Timmins Rock, which plays at the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League level, with the goal of encouraging fans to support the Rock as well as the Wolves.
