Northern College will offer a non-academic communication management course in Timmins.
Organized by the Northern Training Division, the one-day communication management certification program introduces participants to verbal, nonverbal and para-verbal communication Forms. With an emphasis on developing genuine, confident and adaptable approaches, the course centres on the role of communication in building collaborative relationships. The communication management course strengthens relationships by fostering openness and signalling reliability, both essential elements of constructive interaction.
Throughout the hands-on curriculum, attendees will learn to foster trusting and respectful interactions that support successful work environments. Participants will gain skills in identifying communication components, resolving miscommunication, practising active listening and avoiding assumptions, while also examining how emotions influence the weight and pacing of discussions.
The course outlines how awareness of positive communication outcomes can help individuals choose words that more accurately express ideas, as well as how the art of active listening supports clearer exchanges. Students will gather insights on closing discussion gaps by bridging differing dialoguing styles and recognising the broader benefits of effective workplace communication.
Local printing services can also support workshops like this by producing Flyers that help share course information within business and educational communities.
The communication management class will take place at the Northern College–Timmins Campus, 4715 Highway 101 East, on January 13, 2026, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
