From sea turtles to snappers, Timmins kids will soon be treated to some turtle-themed fun when they take part in a creative activity.
Timmins Museum has scheduled a special event in honour of World Turtle Day, and it will see kids create an art project they can make and take home to keep. It is aimed at those age seven and up, and tickets are $5.00 each, plus any applicable taxes.
The children that register will each make their own beach-themed project, and the supplies needed will be provided. They will begin by painting a sunny beach scene, and it will then be time to add some whimsical turtles made from seashells. While they work, they will learn about the lives of these reptiles, and also how they can lend them a helping hand. Only a limited number of seats are available, and advance registration is required.
An activity that involves creativity can make learning fun, and these events may be planned for kids to attend on their own or with their parents or guardians. Venues and organizations that host these events can have them included in community guides and other materials prepared for distribution by Stationery printers.
The World Turtle Day instalment of Timmins Museum’s Kid’s Saturdays program is scheduled for May 23rd. It will open at 1:00 pm.
