Now that the weather has warmed up, many people are ready to get outside again and start walking. Those who like to walk can take part in two events during the same weekend in June, both raising funds for two very important charities.
The Walk for ALS in Ontario is a 5K ramble. It will help to fund research and promote awareness of this terrible disease; all money raised stays in Ontario. In addition to the walk, the day will feature raffles, a bake sale, a fish pond, and food for purchase. Those who raise a minimum of $100 in pledges will receive a t-shirt.
The Gutsy Walk for Crohn's and Colitis is taking place in over 70 locations nationwide. After the walk, participants can enjoy food, refreshments and entertainment. Participants who raise at least $100 will get an event t-shirt.
In both of these events, participants solicit pledges from friends, family and co-workers. It's likely that Timmins printing companies have been called upon to provide such items as pledge Forms and the printed T-Shirts.
The Walk for ALS in Ontario will take place at Gilles Lake Conservation Area on June 8 from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Those who wish to take part or need more information can call Shelley Thomas or Tara Baptist at 705-365-0457.
The Gutsy Walk for Crohn's and Colitis is taking place at Mountjoy Historical Conservation Area on June 9 from 11:00am - 2:00pm. For more information, call Courtney Taylor at 1-800-387-1479 x239.
