A pot luck dinner gives a community a reason to join together in a fun atmosphere, and this is the inspiration behind a Timmins event that will help to address food insecurity.
The Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins believes everyone should have nutritious food on their table, and to help make that happen, it has made plans for its Harvest Moon evening. This event has become a local tradition, and a fundraising goal of $5,000 has been set for this year’s edition.
The evening will see local gardeners and foodies gathering to share the seasonal bounty, and everyone is asked to bring along a dish they have prepared. They will also need to supply their own dishware and utensils.
To help make sure the function reaches its fundraising goal, the organizers are accepting donations of money, handmade items, produce and other gifts, which will be used as draw prizes. The function has a harvest theme, and items such as fresh preserves, local produce or themed artwork may all be appropriate. Gifts certificates and cards will also be most appreciated.
The Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins will be hosting its Harvest Moon event on Saturday, September 23rd. It will be welcoming diners at 187 Cedar Street South. A poster printing company can help to produce promotional materials for a fundraising event like this one.
