Ottawa rock show to benefit charity
After a successful inaugural edition, the HOPE Rockfest will return for a second helping this October, raising money to benefit people in need in Ottawa.
This year’s show will be headlined by acclaimed rock act Dear Rouge, the Juno-winning duo of Drew and Danielle McTaggart. They will be supported by local artists Sharlee, Erin Maiden, and The New Hires. The best of the local bands will be crowned the artist showcase winner. Last year’s event, headlined by Kasador, saw Lazzy Lung take the title.
HOPE Rockfest will also feature local food and drink vendors, with the festival sponsored by Ottawa’s own Overflow Brewing Co. Fundraising concerts like this often use methods like banner printing and signage to help recognize sponsors and encourage attendees to support the cause.
Funds raised through the concert will go towards the HOPE organization, which partners with charities like Upstream Ottawa, the Ottawa Humane Society and Youth Services, as well as organizing initiatives like park cleanups and its Bags of HOPE initiative that provides basic toiletries to those who may be unable to afford them. The organization is primarily known for its summer volleyball fundraiser, which has been running since 1980, but is looking to turn RockFest into a new tradition.
The 2025 edition of HOPE Rockfest will take place on Saturday, October 4 at Overflow Brewing in Ottawa.
