Ottawa film fest to reach new heights
The Mountains on Stage touring film festival will come to Ottawa this December, featuring cinematic mountains and those who try to conquer them.
The screening will be a part of Mountains on Stage’s winter program, and will feature four new documentary films. “K2: Chasing Shadows” chronicles mountain climber Benjamin Védrines’ attempt to climb the world’s second-tallest mountain, while “Just a Climber” follows one-handed alpinist Solenne Piret.
The other films featured are “Better Up There”, featuring freeride skier Mathis Dumas, and “Zahir”, about two women trying to traverse the Swiss Alps only with bicycles. The Ottawa showings of the festival will consist of two screenings, with each one showing all four films, for a total length of approximately 210 minutes.
Mountains on Stage is shown around the world each year, with the festival seen in over 250 cities and 23 countries.
