Storming session on the way to Mississauga

The stormwater drainage infrastructure in Mississauga plays a vital role in the protection of the environment and the city’s drinking water source, and an event is coming up that will give the public more information about just how important it is.

There are as many as 51,000 of these drains throughout the city, and they carry away excess melted snow and rainwater from the streets and other areas. In turn, these feed into streams that eventually reach Lake Ontario, which is the source of drinking water for the community. The booth will provide more information of this, and also how it helps to prevent erosion and protect property. It will also be letting people know about the new charge for stormwater that will now be a part of the Region of Peel’s water bill.

The public is invited to stop by, view the displays and ask any questions that they may have. The information booth will be set up on May 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Burnhamthorpe Library in Mississauga. A variety of Promotional Products can be designed to give at during events such as this. These can be printed with a QR code that will allow a person to easily reach the city’s website so they can find out more.
