Home horticulturalists who would like to find out how easy it can be to provide a pollinator buffet may want to save the date for a Mississauga workshop that will offer tips and tricks for doing so.
Choosing native species can be an important step in creating a pollinator garden, and those who attend the “Attracting Pollinators to Your Yard” session will walk away with knowledge of how to do so. It will include a visit to a wooded area so everyone can view these plants in person, and all will be welcome
The attendees will enjoy a guided walk through Hancock Woodlands Park so they can be inspired by Mother Nature, learning which plants may be best for their own yard. Along with their ability to attract bees, butterflies, moths and other pollinators, factors such as texture and colour will be discussed, and everyone can find out how to provide them with the care they need to flourish under cultivation. Advance registration is mandatory to participate.
A horticultural workshop may be appreciated by both green thumbs and newbie gardeners alike. Stationery printers can prepare “cheat sheets” of gardening tips that can help them find planting success.
Mississauga gardeners who would like to offer pollinators a helping hand are welcome to sign up for this activity, which will take place on July 18th. Everyone who registers is asked to be at 2151 Camilla Road by no later than 10:30 am on its scheduled date.
