Mississauga’s firefighters are regarded as local heroes, and the department is interested in adding some new members to its ranks.
The city has planned virtual information sessions for members of the general public who may be considering a career in firefighting, and the sessions will follow an open house format. Those who would like to take part do not need to register ahead of time, and there are morning, afternoon and evening time slots available.
During each of the events, the attendees will be able to meet current firefighters who work for the city, and they can ask questions and get the inside scoop on the profession. They will also learn the benefits that go hand in hand with the job, as well as its challenges. Current openings that need to be filled will be posted starting in February.
One way an organization can make this sort of event even more valuable to those who participate is to offer information packages for them to take read at their own leisure. These often include pamphlets and other items prepared by a brochure printing company.
The city has made arrangements to offer these open house sessions for potential future firefighters on January 12th, January 21st and February 3rd. For the safety of all, the sessions will be on offered online, and they will each run for one hour.
