Upcoming Markham events offer fun for families

Family Day, which takes place next month, will see the city of Markham host a couple of family-friendly events.

Winterfest will take place at Markham

Museum next month. There are plenty of activities planned for the day including snow shoeing, ice block building and learning about the science of snow. In past years, activities have also included building snowmen, ice skating and snowball target shooting. There will the opportunity to create crafts, enjoy some live music and purchase food.

Another event taking place in Markham is the Family Day Canvas Challenge at the Varley Art Gallery. Participants will explore the work of Sarah Cale, who currently has an exhibit at the gallery, and have the opportunity to create their own artwork on canvas. There are two sessions taking place from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Admission is $35 for a family of four and $5 for each extra person.

These events may be advertised using products obtained from Markham flyer printing companies which can then be distributed in the city.

Winterfest will be held at the Markham Museum on February 15 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Tickets are $3 each. Call 905-304-5970 to learn more.
