The fair will include a number of entertainment events and stage shows. For lovers of vehicular mayhem, there will be a Monster Truck Madness show, a demolition derby and a traditional truck and tractor pull. Fireworks will light up the sky on opening night. The grounds will also include a carnival midway with rides and games. Other entertainment will include the SuperDogs stunt show.
The fair is rooted in agricultural tradition and will feature local farmers showing off their livestock and produce. Entries will be placed in the Prize Book with awards in each category. There will be buildings and avenues for poultry, cows, sheep and goats. Horse lovers can get up close and personal with equine companions. More unique competitions include the Miniature Butter Sculpture Contest and annual Baby Contest.
Local youth can also show off their skills at the Teen Talent show. Traditional rural fairs like this often use banner printing and signage to help create an atmosphere and guide visitors around. Event organizers emphasize the fair’s community origins:
“Each year, the Fair provides a vibrant space to celebrate local talent, rural traditions and the enduring spirit of community."
The 2026 Markham Fair will take place from October 1 to 4 at The Fairgrounds.
