A staple of local summers, the Markham Jazz Festival will be holding a special edition in Unionville this August, featuring a wide variety of musicians.
The festival, the 29th of its kind, will include over 30 artists across three stages and two days. Headliners include Mr. Beeper, Erin Propp and U. N. Jefferson. Guests can also see ensembles such as The Honey Judges, The Eighth Street Orchestra and the Kalso Street Collective. The stages will be hosted by local emcees Sahir Jamal, Tammy Mang and Jaymz Bee.
In addition to the main festival area, there will be “welcome” concerts hosted on Main Street of Unionville and the Central United Church featuring artists like The Tap Room Gang and West End Riverbot Band. There will also be “Jazz Hot Spots” around Markham where local musicians can showcase their skills among the community.
The Jazz Festival will also include stalls and displays by local craft and artisan vendors looking to connect with new customers. Organizers will run free shuttle service from Unionville High School to the festival site. Music festivals often use brochure printing and websites to help provide a comprehensive guide to all the artists who will be performing as well as vendors an sponsors.
The 2026 Markham Jazz Festival will take place on August 22 and 23 on Unionville’s Main Street.
