Markham to enjoy a taste of locally grown produce

The Harvest Moon festival is taking place next month in Markham. A portion of proceeds from this event will go to support the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.

The aim of the festival is to showcase the variety of foods that are grown in the area. Guests will have the opportunity to taste many samples of food, craft beer and wine. They will also enjoy a three-course gourmet meal with wine, which will be presented by the restaurant Marca on Main. Food trucks will also be on hand.

A farmers’ market will also feature produce from some local farms. The fee to rent a booth at the market and in the tasting zone is $30, plus a refundable $300 deposit.

In addition, musical entertainment will be provided by local bands all afternoon.

Group gourmet packages for eight are available for purchase; they include two sampling coupons for each person, dinner, and VIP parking.

The festival will be a good opportunity for local food providers to make their name known to the community. They may distribute Flyers in the Markham area to let people know that they are participating.

The Harvest Moon festival will be held at the Markham Fairgrounds on August 18 from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This event is for those aged 19 and over, tickets cost $20 until July 31 and $25 after. To learn more, call 905-642-3247.
