The Easton Group announced plans for the new development in January. The company currently own 15 hotels in Ontario as well as Quebec, including Hilton, Holiday Inn and Marriott.
This is the first project where two different types of hotel accommodation share the same building.
David Eisenstadt, a partner of the group, said of the new venture:
“I can’t in my experience tell you of another hotel where you’ll find two hotels in the same property.”
Courtyard contains 187 rooms while TownePlace Suites consists of 112 rooms. Both will offer short as well as long-term stays. The hotels will share facilities, such as the fitness centre, indoor pool, and a meeting area that will be able to accommodate over 1,000 people.
New developments that are planned for communities like Markham can use the services of printing companies to help spread the word via brochure printing to introduce public amenities.
Steve Gupta, CEO of Easton, is an entrepreneur who worked his way up in the real estate industry across Ontario before building the company.
The two new hotels will be a gateway to introduce the Gupta Group, the company’s new umbrella brand, according to sources.
