Markham online activity to introduce boreal forest

The boreal forest is home to a diverse range of organisms, and Markham families are invited to an event that will explore this environmental resource.

Children’s author Lindsey Carmichael will be presenting her book “The Boreal Forest” to the public, and during the presentation, she will introduce a variety of species that call the northern forest home. Its organizers have explained that it is suitable for kids from aged six and up, and they are encouraged to take part along with their whole family.

During the session, the attendees will learn about a variety of well-known and obscure organisms from the north, and there will also be an activity where they will be encouraged to get up and move. Its scheduled run time is 30 minutes, and they will be able to ask questions and learn about how plants have adapted to photosynthesize efficiently in conditions that can be quite harsh.

Once they have registered for this Zoom workshop, the participants will be able to Print off a PDF that includes instructions for creating a forest filtration experience. This is just one example of a learning material that a printer’s graphic design team can prepare for a session like this.

The Toronto Botanical Garden has made plans to offer this session on April 24th. More details and a registration link have been added to its website.
