Markham’s Main Street district is considered by many to be the financial heart of the community, and many of its merchants and other businesses want to let the public know they are open for business.
Main Street Markham announced that many of the businesses on and around Main Street have created plans for staying open during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they have each found a way to continue to serve their customers and clients. The organization has compiled a list of companies that are currently operating, and it has invited all local enterprises to add their names to the list.
During the group's “Open for Business” campaign, it will be sharing a list it has compiled of establishments that will be staying open, as well as how each will meet the needs of its customers through measures such as takeout/curbside pickup or delivery, gift cards, an online store or ordering platform or offering in-person service. It is also sharing tips for the public so they can support local small companies and explained why this is important.
