Markham meeting to benefit those living with epilepsy

There are many different types of epilepsy, but no matter what kind an individual is living with, they may find that the workshop planned for Markham’s Aaniin Community Centre will offer actionable tips and other support.

A representative of Epilepsy York Region will be the host for an educational session focused on epilepsy. It is intended to be a general overview, and several topics are on the agenda for discussion.

The group will review what epilepsy is and the various Forms it can take. There will also be tips shared for navigating the process of being diagnosed and what medications are typically used to treat epilepsy. The participants will also find out what support exists in their community, both for themselves and for their caregivers and family, and advocacy is also on the agenda.

It is free to reserve a seat for the evening, and anyone who is interested is encouraged to sign up now.

Hosting an information session like this is one way an organization can engage with the local community. A brochure printing company can prepare materials to hand out, and these can be paired with promotional Pens.

The Let’s Talk epilepsy workshop will begin at 6:30pm on February 4th. Anyone who has questions or needs more details can contact the organizer through the event’s online listing.
