Markham event to ease transition from Early Intervention

A Markham workshop is aiming to help parents to navigate the process of making the transition from Early Intervention Services.

This program helps families of young children who need an extra helping hand transition to the system that has been set up for older children and eventually, the one for adults. This can sometimes feel like an overwhelming experience, but the workshop will give parents tips they can use to navigate the process and find the supports and other assistance they may be looking for.

This community-based initiative will begin with a general overview of transitioning and tips to make it go smoothly. After this, parents and caregivers will be able to book some individual time with a case manager to discuss their family’s unique situation and needs.

Parents of special needs children often need to be an advocate for their son or daughter, but it is not always easy to know where to start. Workshops like this can help, and attendees at these kind of events often go home with materials containing informational resources crafted by a brochure printing company, helping to arm them with plenty of useful tips and tools that they can use.

York Support Services Network will be hosting this event for Early Intervention families. It will be held at 50 McIntosh Drive on July 15th.
