The Men of the Deeps, a choral group that hails from Cape Breton, has entertained audiences all over the world. An upcoming special performance will give “Capers” who are far from home, as well as those who just enjoy live entertainment, an evening to remember.
The group, which is made up of both current and retired coal miners, will be taking to the stage in Markham to perform a selection of holiday tunes and other favourites. One of these that has come to be especially popular is its rendition of “Working Man”, which tells the story of a coal miners and their lives working in places like Glace Bay, Donkin, and Sydney Mines.
At this family-friendly event, the songs sung will tell the tale of what a traditional Christmas was like for the miners and their families, and there will also be stories, jokes and other fun. Tickets start at $70, and YouthTix pricing may also be available for the younger members of the audience.
This sort of performance can be a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Programs for such occasions can be sourced from a local printing services company.
