The 47th annual Unionville Festival is taking place for two days next month.
The whole thing starts off with a parade, which is the largest one in York region. It will feature all the usual participants such as marching bands, floats and clowns. The two-day festival will be filled with all sorts of events and activities that should appeal to every member of the family.
There will be a 5K race and a 2K walk, fireworks displays, a multicultural concert and a village market selling food and handmade crafts. The Krazy Kraft race will take place on Toogood Pond and winners will get prizes. The Rubber Duck race on Bruce Creek will also award the winners. There will also be a rock climbing wall and a bouncy castle for the kids.
Sunday will be Family Day at Crosby Park. There will be games, contests and giveaways. There will also be a charity barbecue to benefit B Strong, a dog contest and a potting station. In addition, there are set to be hot air balloon rides, a family treasure hunt, potato sack races and a three-legged dash.
