The 41st annual Thornhill Village Festival is taking place next month. It is a presentation of the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill.
This is a family-friendly event that will have something for people of all ages. There will be a children’s area with games and activities, food and drink for purchase and 30-minute historical re-enactments by the King’s Royal Yorkers.
There is also set to be an art show and a baking contest. The Old Tyme Baking Contest is divided into five separate categories; loaves and muffins, pies and tarts, cakes, squares and cooking, Canadiana and Youth (under 16.) The items will be judged on appearance, taste and ease of serving; the winners will be awarded prizes.
Vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts and commercial merchandise. Community organizations and political parties may also host booths. The fees for vendor booths are $125 for crafts, $250 for commercial, $25 for community and $200 for political groups.
Families all over Markham will likely be planning for this annual event. Organizers may invest in advertising Banners that can be displayed in the community.
The Thornhill Village Festival will be held on Yonge and John Streets on September 16 from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Admission is free. Call 905-881-3952 for more information about the festival or to become a vendor.Get a Free Quote for Banners
