Annual Gala helps survivors of domestic abuse

The 13th annual Yellow Brick House Gala is coming up in Markham in less than two weeks.

The event is set to celebrate the organization’s 40th anniversary and raise funds for various programs and services provided by the Yellow Brick House.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception, giving attendees the opportunity to meet with the keynote speaker and representatives of the Yellow Brick House. This will be followed by a sit-down dinner, a guest speaker and a live auction hosted by ‘Layne the Auctionista’.

The Corporate Commitment Award will also be handed out, for which there are currently three finalists. This year’s guest speaker is Attiya Khan, who directed the documentary ‘A Better Man’ and also survived domestic abuse.

Sponsorships are available from $5,000 up to $20,000; sponsors will be recognized in the event program that all attendees will receive.

The Yellow Brick House provides services to women and children who suffer domestic abuse. These services include a crisis line, two emergency shelters, and counseling.

Markham brochure printers are often asked to provide programs for charity events like this one.

The Gala will take place at Le Parc Banquet Hall on March 2 beginning at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $200 each and tables for 10 are available. To learn more, call Rachael Sedman at 905-709-0900 x2255.
