London’s TD Sunfest music festival will be returning via a digital edition this July, and it has recently announced a full lineup of diverse artists.
The festival aims to highlight a diverse range of musical styles from around the world, with a focus on jazz and instrumental music. International artists include Senegalese jazz bassist Aluna Wade, Estonian folk trio Trad Attack and decades-old Cuban dance troupe Anaconda. Canadian musicians with international inspiration will also perform, including London’s own Light of the East Ensemble performing Middle Eastern classics, BC ensemble Five Alarm Funk and Montreal fusion artists The Liquor Store.
The festival will be livestreamed through online video platforms, as well as local radio stations, with performers streaming their sets from around the world. Sunfest has also launched a “Friends of the Festival” program to allow fans to support the programming and receive items like Promotional Products and concert discounts.
The festival says it hopes to make an in-person return to London’s Victoria Park in July of 2022. In the meantime, it will be arranging watch parties at locations around London to allow for community spirit while maintaining social distancing.
TD Sunfest Connected 2021 will take place between July 8 and 11. The concert will be streamed on Sunfest’s Facebook and YouTube channels and broadcast on the CHRW London and CIUT Toronto radio stations.
