Shelter for homeless youth gets them off to a great start

Flyer printing companies in London, Ontario, are on hand to assist with the efforts of a local shelter for homeless youth in continuing to feed the young and destitute. The Second Base Youth Shelter in nearby Scarborough is a decent example of what kind of difference community activists can make if they only put their minds to it.

The Second Base Youth Shelter is a shelter—the only one in the entire city for homeless youth—that functions with 56 beds, but it opens up 10 more if the weather gets really cold. With this amount of capacity, the shelter has projected that it could well serve more than 20,000 hot meals to homeless kids.

The executive director of Second Base Youth Shelter—Paul Taylor—testifies that the breakfast program at his well-intentioned shelter has increased in size of late to provide a more hearty meal for the youths. Usually, the shelter has been serving fare like cereal and milk, which is a highly basic breakfast meal. Recently, the shelter has been serving the homeless youths the greasier and fattier selections of bacon and eggs, clearly a type of breakfast choice that will get the youths out of the shelter’s beds by the shelter’s arbitrary 7 a.m. deadline.

The addition of bacon and eggs to the breakfast menu is because the executive director believes that such heartier fare will empower the youths to perform better at work, school, or wherever they end up.
Flyer printing companies in London, Ontario, are perfectly placed to provide their services to local charities looking to promote their campaigns.
