Rock legend to visit London

Pop-rock hitmaker Sting will be performing in London this August as part of the “My Songs” tour.

The show will be focused on performing the greatest hits from Sting’s decades-long career, including both his solo career and his stint with 80s rock band The Police. Advertisements for the tour feature the names of hits like “Every Breath You Take”, “Demolition Man” and “Message In A Bottle.”

The event is also designed to promote Sting’s latest album The Bridge, which draws from a variety of musical genres ranging from jazz to folk. Concert tours such as these provide fans with a chance to see iconic artists reflecting on their careers, and they are typically advertised through local radio and poster printing.

Sting will be accompanied by his son, English singer-songwriter Joe Sumner. The My Songs tour has been a lengthy one, beginning in Paris in 2019 in support of the album of the same name. However, the second leg of the tour was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has now resumed under the original name – despite the release of a new album. The London performance is the sole Canadian stop this summer in between tours of Spain and the United States, although there will be performances in the Maritimes in September.

The London stop on Sting’s My Songs tour will take place on August 25 at Budweiser Gardens.
