With two successful editions under its belt, London’s Springbank Sprint is expanding its race offerings for its third edition this April.
The road race takes place throughout Springbank Park alongside the Thames River. Adult participants can run a 5-kilometre or 10-kilometre course, with shorter options available for children. There will also be walking-only events for those looking to conquer the distance at a slower pace. This year’s event includes the new Jacob McKay Memorial Tandem Challenge. The challenge welcomes runners in pairs of two, with each running one half of a 10-kilometre relay. The race is designed for corporate or club-run teams, which will each raise at least $1,000 for Children’s Health Foundation. In addition, $5 from each regular registration will go towards the Foundation.
The event is sponsored by Ontario Athletics, which will be providing chip-timing for the longer runs so that all runners will know their time. Following the races will be a new post-race party, hosted at BackRoads Brews + Shoes. Charity races such as this often use perks such as Promotional Products to entice sign-ups and donations, and each participant in the Springback Sprint will receive a custom event shirt and medal. The top three finishers of each gender in each run will also receive an additional prize.
The 2024 Springbank Sprint will take place at Springbank Park in London on the morning of April 6.
