Ribfest to return to London

A major food festival is set to once again take place in London, Ontario this summer, as London Ribfest returns for its 34th edition.

Billing itself as “Canada’s First & Biggest” such event, Ribfest is a five-day festival dedicated to ribs, craft beer, and general celebration. The festival will allow visitors to sample food and drink from far and wide, with meat well represented through vendors like Oak & Barrel, Smokehouse Bandits and Silver Bullet Barbecue. Specialty brewers will also be present, such as Landshark Premium Lager, Railway City Brewing Co. and London Brewing Co-Op. At the end of the week, awards will be given for “Best Ribs” and “Best Beer.”

The festival is often the site of attempts to break world records. Last year’s event saw the construction of the longest chicken shawarma wrap in the world, measuring 152.3 feet. Ribfest will also feature all of the accouterments of a summer festival, including street art performances with chalk, carnival rides, live music and a giant Jenga tower. The 2019 festival saw an estimated 200,000 visitors, buoyed by good weather. Festivals like this can be of lasting benefit for local brewers, grillmasters and other vendors, who often use Business Cards and Promotional Products to convert a good meal into business throughout the year.

The 2020 edition of London Ribfest is currently scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 3 at Victoria Park.
