Print companies in London, Ontario, will have pulled out all of the stops in producing promotional materials for TWEED: A New Canadian Musical. TWEED is the production of the IANA Theatre Company, and the upcoming downtown Toronto stop already has its artistic director excited, even though the Toronto date is approximately half a year into the future. Artistic director Tim Porter explained that he has high hopes for the upcoming Toronto show of TWEED because of how enthusiastic he is in revealing to the Toronto crowd all the aspects of the town of Tweed. He especially wants to highlight to the Toronto crowd how vibrant and beautiful the community of Tweed is.
The show runs from August 18 to August 27, and it will include much of the original cast along with added musical numbers and costumes. It will also feature the benefit of a full band. Porter is so optimistic and confident in his company’s ability to put on the show TWEED in Toronto that he is actually encouraging Canadians to journey to Toronto in late August of this year to take in the production. He is especially mindful of any theatergoers who may have wanted to catch TWEED last year, but for whatever reason failed to do so.
The limited engagement run of the production in August will be its debut in the city, and to commemorate that, TWEED will have a gala opening on August 18.
