Londons Pink Dress Society holds social night for good cause

After a successful 2018, the London, Ontario-based Pink Dress Society will hold its first 2019 event this April with a ‘Fifty Shades of Pink’ charity spectacular.

The organisation is dedicated to raising money to fight breast cancer with a series of events it calls ‘London’s Luxurious Nights Out’. All proceeds from these events will go to St. Joseph’s Health Care Program, which battles the disease in the community.

Fifty Shades of Pink encourages visitors to show off their best pink-shaded looks, and will feature a runway fashion show with both male and female models. Local exhibitors will provide an exclusive shopping experience, alongside auction events to raise money for the cause. Food and live performances will also be included.

Announced sponsors include Dashing Balloons Canada, Pure Glo London, BHG Orthodontics, and Susan Bros. Realty. Charitable events such as this often draw on many local businesses coming together, such as restaurants for catering, Print services for banner printing, and other vendors for auction items.

The Pink Dress Society is headed up by Alanna Riley and Michelle Goldirick, both of whom have dealt with breast cancer and feel a personal connection to the cause. In addition to attendees, Fifty Shades of Pink is still looking for runway models and local sponsors.

The event will take place on the evening of April 11 at London’s Double Tree Hotel.
