The annual event consists of five hours of free outdoor entertainment meant to ring in the New Year, and it typically brings in thousands of celebrants from London and surrounding areas. Visitors can enjoy outdoor skating as well as live music from local talents. The London Music Awards All Stars supergroup will also take the stage as part of the event. The event concludes at midnight with a traditional fireworks display to officially turn the calendar over to 2024. A full music line-up and other details are set to be announced in the lead-up to the event.
This year’s event will have a new lead contributor, as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board has responded to the call for a title sponsor. Other sponsors include local radio stations, companies, unions, and TV stations, all of which will be doing their part to bring awareness for the event. Local sponsors are often represented through banner printing and other displays. In a statement, planning committee chair Marcus Plowright highlighted the community nature of the event:
“The City has partnered with the community for decades to ensure Londoners can continue the New Year’s Eve celebrations that have become a London tradition.”
The 2023 New Year’s Eve in the Park event will take place at Victoria Park on the evening of December 31, running until midnight.
