London wine and food show celebrates 15 years

One of London, Ontario’s premier food events will return for its 15th edition this month. The event will offer Londoners the opportunity to sample the finest of Ontario’s famous wine country, as well as innovative local cuisine.

“Wine” is first in the event name for a reason, and the event places an emphasis on alcoholic beverages. Local wineries like Colio Estates, Dark Horse Estates, and Hounds of Erie will offer their finest grapes. Those with different tastes can enjoy whiskies from Forty Creek Distillery, craft beer from Cowbell Brewing Co, or flavoured vodka from Crafty Elk Distillery. For food, there will be an emphasis on local dairies like Gunn’s Hill and Stonetown as well as meat farmers like Stafford Brothers and truLOCAL, so that guests can find the perfect pairing for a bit of the bubbly.

The Wine & Food Show will also feature an educational portion featuring chefs, sommeliers, and industry experts. Featured events include daily whisky takings from John PacPherson, who works for PMA Canada as a Scotch Specialist, and cooking classics from Yoda Ollinyk, owner of London’s plant-based catering company Yoda’s Kitchen. There will also be entertainment in the form of concerts by country musicians Connor Morand and Patrick James Clark and hourly performances by local aerialists. Wine and food shows like this, often advertised through brochure printing and Promotional Products, can be key to creating a “foodie” culture and highlight southern Ontario’s wealth of local food and ingredient.

The London Wine & Food Show will take place from January 16 to 18 at the Western Fair District. The event typically sees anywhere from 5000 to 20, 000 visitors.
