Exciting events are coming to London, ON in 2013. The city is hosting the prestigious World Figure Skating Championships and is getting a financial boost from the provincial government to ensure the event is a success. The city of London has been buzzing since the funding announcement this Wednesday, May 23, when politicians met to announce the finances diverted towards the tournament’s staging.
The tournament is scheduled to be held March 10 - 17, 2013 and the province will receive $1.5 million to help cover operational and infrastructure costs to host the event, which will be viewed by an estimated 160 million observers on television. Another 10,000 are expected to be in London live at the John Labatt Centre, where the Championship will be held.
