London Ribfest set to return

One of London’s biggest food events is scheduled to make a full return this year, as Ribfest has announced its plans for next month.

Taking place over the Civic Holiday weekend and calling itself “Canada’s Biggest Party”, Ribfest features a selection of barbecue food, as well as entertainment, such as live music and vendors. All artists who had originally been booked for the 2020 Ribfest will be carried forward into this summer’s edition.

In recent years, Ribfest has also focused on craft beer, providing attendees with a wide selection of local brews. Some of the most successful “rib teams” over the event’s history have included Boss Hog’s, Oak and Barrel, Dinosaur Ribs and Fat Boys Barbecue.

Ribfest is currently set to be one of the first large-scale events in London in over a year, with the event dates set shortly after the planned start of Ontario’s “Phase 3” of reopening. Should health policies prevent an in-person event, there are reserve plans for a drive-through Ribfest to still allow Londoners to get their meat.

Food events like this, which often find a large audience through methods like flyer printing and social media, have had to make adjustments over the past year, but still aim to bring people together.

London’s Ribfest will take place at Victoria Park between July 29 and August 2.
