The London Rock the Park music festival may not be taking place this summer, but in the meantime, there will be a series of live shows for music fans to attend.
The shows, called “Road to Rock the Park”, will fixture a mixture of local artists and cover bands. Juno-nominated country artist Tim Hicks will host a pair of shows to kick off the series at the start of July, and Hamilton-based rock band The Trews will perform a pair of acoustic concerts as part of the series.
Road to Rock the Park will also include a Duelling Pianos segment, along with two “Classic Albums Live” concerts, which will feature cover bands performing all of the songs from Led Zeppelin II and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Chronicles.
The concerts will take place outdoors, with groups of 100 people spread across six-person tables. The shows will also include dinners, with meals ordered ahead of time and delivered to each table. Music shows and festivals have had to adapt to the age of social distancing, still using promotional tools like flyer printing and radio advertisements, but also using virtual streams, outdoor shows and drive-ins to reach music fans in a different setting.
The Road to Rock the Park shows are set to begin on July 2 and 3 and will conclude on August 27 and 28. Locations for the concerts will be announced at a later date.
