London’s premier folk music festival will be making a full return this year as the Home County Music & Art Festival comes back this July.
With almost 50 years of history, the festival has featured some of the biggest names in Canadian folk and other styles of music. The festival will kick off with a Friday night show headlined by Juno-nominated independent folk musician Terra Lightfoot, The Saturday show will feature legendary Canadian fiddler and singer Ashley MacIsaac, while Sunday will see a performance by veteran roots singer-songwriter Stephen Fearing, best known for co-founding Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. Other featured performers include Aysanabee, Lindsey & the Lonelies, and the Sultans of String.
The Home County Festival will also feature a marketplace of vendors offering foods and handmade crafts. There will be a juried craft show, as well as a Family Area with kids’ activities. Music festivals and other large events, often using tools such as flyer printing and social media for advertising, provide the opportunity to sample new musical acts, foods, and products alike. The Home Country Festival stands out for being a non-profit, volunteer-run event that does not charge an admission fee but does encourage donations.
The 2023 Home County Music & Art Festival will take place from July 14 to 16 at Victoria Park in London.
