London has a bright IKEA

An IKEA pickup point will be opening its doors in London, Ontario by next winter, according to sources.

This will be the first site in North America, and will be located at Wonderland Road and Southdale Road.

Stefan Sjöstrand, the president of Swedish store chain, said in a statement:

"The ambition is to make IKEA more accessible to the many Canadians. The Pick-Up-Points allow IKEA to expand quickly into markets that have been identified as having potential, resulting in consumers having easier access to our products."

Other Canadian pickup point locations will be set up in the future, according to Sjöstrand. There are currently 12 IKEA stores in Canada and approximately 75,000 customers shop online. The new location will allow customers to order online and then pick up their purchases at the London location.

Customers will also have the opportunity to use a computer station in the store to shop directly on the company’s website. The store will also have products available for purchasing.

The new store will employ approximately 20 people. A reputable Print company can help with flyer printing to send out into the community to introduce new positions available to potential employees.

The new location will reduce costs and delivery times for their customers. The Mayor of London, Matt Brown said that the store had been long awaited and residents were now looking forward to seeing it flourish.
