An upcoming London event will combine spooky Halloween festivities with a challenging road race.
Halloween Haunting 2022 challenges participants to raise money and run a set distance, whether it be in athletic gear or their Halloween costume. The race will take place on a looping course with an uphill stretch, with 5-kilometre, 10-kilometre, and 2.3-kilometre distances available, as well as a 250-metre “kiddy trot”. Participants will also have the option of participating virtually and completing the run at a time and place of their choice. Virtual runs have become a popular option for events like this in recent years, often promoted through flyer printing and social media, with participants posting photos from their run online.
The race will include an awards ceremony recognizing the top finishers for each distance. Awards will also be given for the best costume and the top pledger. Money raised will go towards the London Track 3 Ski nonprofit organizations, which provides ski programs for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The volunteer organization relies on donations for equipment, operating costs and other expenditures. Donors who raise a high amount of money can receive free entry and a SoleScience gift card.
The Halloween Haunting 2022 road race will take place on the morning of October 30 at Springbank Park, with the starting line at Stone Cottage.
