London residents are set to enjoy a day of all things canine next month when Pawlooza comes to Ontario to mark International Homeless Animals’ Day.
Organizers are expecting the event to attract around 6,000 dogs and more than 25,000 people, with all proceeds going to ARF Ontario and LEADS Employment Services.
There will be plenty of activities for dogs to enjoy on the day, including duck diving, agility tests, and swimming. There will also be an off-leash area so the animals can get to know one another.
For owners, there will be a silent auction, free product samples, speakers offering expert advice and the opportunity to adopt a pet. Local businesses will be donating a variety of items for the silent auction, which will more than likely be dog-related. In addition to all of these activities, there will also be approximately 175 vendors selling everything of interest to dog owners and 55 animal rescue and welfare groups.
There will also be a number of competitions taking place during the festival, including a Best Dressed Contest and Pawlooza's Got Talent. All in all, it should be a great outing for dogs and their owners.
It is likely that those animal rescue and welfare groups which plan to attend will be handing out informational literature to passers-by. Many will no doubt be investing in brochure and booklet printing services from London printing companies.
Pawlooza will take place on August 17 from 10:00am - 6:00pm at the Plunkett Estate. Admission is $10 per car. For more information about the event, call 519-439-0352.
