This April, Londoners will be able to celebrate Earth Day in style as Earthfest, a festival designed to promote environmental sustainability, will take place throughout the city.
Earthfest will feature live music and other performers, as well as speakers on environmental issues. Citi Plaza will host an “eco-extravaganza”, with vendors offering locally made or otherwise environmentally friendly products. Festivals and marketplaces such as this provide a chance for local vendors to interact directly with customers, using Business Cards and promotional items to help make a connection. The event advertises “Greener Homes, Greener Living, and Greener Food”, suggesting the breadth of vendors and products on offer.
London’s Central Library will feature a Repair Café, as well as booths and workshops hosted by green experts and organizations. Finally, downtown Dundas Place will be closed to traffic for a miniature street party with food vendors, games aimed at young visitors, and other activities.
The festival is designed to feature hands-on activities throughout, including demonstrations of electric vehicles and e-bikes, as well as to celebrate the progress made towards environmental sustainability within London. Similar events are held worldwide during Earth Day to encourage environmental consciousness and raise awareness of ways people can help their local surroundings.
Earthfest will take place in London on April 22 at Citi Plaza, the Central Library, and Dundas Place.
