The event is part of Williams’ Luvz Punz production, which combines music, podcasting, and stand-up comedy events. There will be eight local comedians performing stand-up at the event, each with their own sense of humour. There will also be a “Dad Joke” competition to see who can come up with the corniest pun imaginable. Attendees and comics are encouraged to dress up for the Halloween season. Discounted tickets will be available in advance.
Luvz Punz’s website explains the company’s goals in hosting live events:
“Our team of talented performers are dedicated to providing high-quality entertainment that is sure to leave a lasting impression. [...] Our goal is to bring joy and laughter to people's lives through the power of entertainment.”
The event will be raising money for Boys and Girls Club of Canada organization, which aims to make recreational activities available to all children. While October-Jest is benefiting children, it is recommended for a 19+ audience. Comedy events like this often use methods like podcast appearances and local flyer printing to help attract lovers of laughter.
The 2024 edition of October-Jest will take place on the evening of October 26 at London Music Hall.
