Advertising itself as the biggest pop culture celebration in Southwestern Ontario, London Comic Con will be making a full return this September.
Like other conventions around the world, the London event will feature a number of celebrity guests and prominent artists from the world of comics and pop culture. Among the guests are Khary Payton, known for his role in The Walking Dead and voicing the DC superhero Cyborg; Robert Picardo, who appeared in sci-fi series such as Stargate SG-1 and Star Trek: Voyager; and Babylon 5 star Bruce Boxleitner.
The comics-related guests are headlined by long-time Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter and veteran artist Rags Morales. Convention guests typically appear in events such as autograph signings, meet-and-greets and panels.
Others will be attracted to the artist’s alley and vendor area, offering everything from custom drawings to rare Promotional Products. The convention floor will include stages mimicking major pop culture properties such as Star Trek and Dr. Who, aimed at photo-ops and fan meet-ups. Prominent events on the schedule include fan costume, or “cosplay”, contests, tabletop gaming and live entertainment, which in the past has ranged from music to pro wrestling shows aimed at pop culture diehards. The event aims to be family-friendly with a dedicated “Kids Zone”.
The 2022 edition of London Comic-Con will take place on September 17 & 18 at RBC Place.
