London awaits annual celebration of music

The Forest City London Music Week will be returning this June, highlighting local sounds with events throughout the city.

The week will begin with an official Kickoff Party, featuring live music and a beer garden. There will be two awards shows highlighting the best in a variety of genres from throughout Southern Ontario. Each show will feature performances, as well as awards in genres ranging from classical to hip-hop. The Forest City BIA will be hosting a Live After 5 networking event highlighting the city’s music, while also allowing professionals to connect at various venues. There will also be showcase concerts highlighting the genres of hip-hop and R&B, as well as another showcasing women in music.

Budding artists will get involved in the action with the Battle of the High School Bands event, while those looking for something spicy can enjoy the free Latin Street Party. Rounding out will be the traditional Gathering on the Green Event, a community festival that predates London Music Week, and the educational Soundcheck for Success program hosted by Long & McQuade. Festivals like this are often promoted through flyer printing and local radio promotion, and are a key part of why the city of London has been internationally recognized for its contributions to music.

The 2025 Forest City London Music Week will take place at various locations throughout the city from May 31 to June 8.
